Guangwai Foreign Language School, Jiangmen, invested by Jiangmen Mingcrown Education Investment Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Guangdong Mingcrown Group, will be a school supported by the government, invested by enterprise, and operated by GDUFS. The land planned for the school will be no less than 180 mu (about 120,000 m2). The first phase which is dedicated to pre-school, primary and junior high school education, is scheduled to open in 2018. The second phase will be devoted to senior high and international high school education and is planned to open in 2021 with a total of 3,800 students.
In 2016, with support from leaders of Jiangmen city and Xinhui district, Jiangmen Mingcrown Education Investment Co., Ltd. approached GDUFS about building a new school in Xinhui. Since then, heads of the three parties have had talks on many occasions and eventually reached an agreement.
Chairman Mo Guanliang of Guangdong Mingcrown Group said that, during nearly one year of negotiation with GDUFS, “The leader of Jiangmen city contacted GDUFS in person, expressing his hope for GDUFS to set up a school in Jiangmen. The leading group of Xinhui district Party committee and Xinhui district government, as well as related functional departments also strongly supported the project. Only with their support are we able to repay Jiangmen people with such a high-end project platform.”
As Vice President Yang Aimin of GDUFS put it at the signing ceremony, the implementation of Guangwai Foreign Language School, Jiangmen which was initiated in 2016, would be conducive to the development of education in Jiangmen and to enhancing the overall strength of GDUFS’s basic education brand. The project has also created good start for further cooperation among the three parties.
